What are?

The endangered species are those that are named beacuse their population numbers are about to dissapear. The secretary  of the Departament of Natural Enviromental Resources (DNER) requires special attetion to ensure their preservation in the physical enviroment where they exist. The purpose of the Act Endangered Species is the recovery of species that are endangered,this would identify the factors that put them at risk. Determined, conservation methods to eliminate the threats to be determined and applied to biologically revelant scale. The dissappearance of this can occur both direct predation on the species or the disappearance of a resource which life depends, therefore human action, as well as natural disasters or pullition caused buildings and developments by man.


In Puerto Rico found thirty-nine species of endangered wildlife. One is the nativa parrot Amazona vittata known as the Puerto Rico Parrot. Raked among the ten most endangered species in the world. It a very abundant in the island, however the late XIX century the parrot was reduced due to deforestation and hurricanes that ocurred in that time. These species are protected by Law No. 241 (Wildlife Act). It is illegal to hunt, possess endangered species, selling, etc.
